Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel
The Walworth Barbour American International Preschool (part of WBAIS) is a private, co-educational institution that offers an American educational program to English-speaking students of all nationalities. It is located in the Even Yehuda AIS campus, 20km north of Tel Aviv. We are a comprehensive preschool that manages to bring out the best in our students.
The school is a non-profit, tax-exempt American corporation, ultimate control of which rests with the members of the corporation. The corporation and the parents of children enrolled in the school elect a school board, which sets school policy and oversees school operations through the superintendent.
The American International Preschool in Israel was established as a play group in 1979. The following year, a babysitting service was formed in the basement of a U.S diplomat’s house in Kfar Shmaryahu. The babysitting group grew until a vision was formed. In 1984 the building was dedicated as the American Embassy Community Center and Preschool. In 2008, the preschool became part of the larger Walworth Barbour American International School in Even Yehuda, which helped expand the preschool's resources, professional development and support.
