Taejon Christian International School South Korea
Founded in 1958 by missionaries as a centrally located boarding school outside of Seoul, TCIS (then called Taejon Foreign School) began as a primary school with eight students in three grades meeting in a U.S. Army Quonset hut. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, TCIS (then called Korea Christian Academy) was both an elementary and secondary school with close to one hundred students in twelve grades meeting in classrooms and more permanent structures. Today, TCIS is a fully accredited college preparatory international Christian school with approximately 500 students (Pre Kindergarten - 12th grade) taught in a brand new campus in the Techno Valley region of Daejeon. Taejon Christian International School located in Daejeon, South Korea, is a growing, dynamic, international school community with a rich 50-year heritage and tradition here in Korea. We believe quality international education involves building a diverse community that cares.
